Office Wi-Fi · Mesh optimization & UniFi
Better placement first.
A wired upgrade next.
An office using Google Nest Wi-Fi saw speeds vary from around 30 to 400 Mbps depending on location. We started by improving the setup they already had.
- 30 MbpsBefore relocation
Speeds in the office’s slower locations.
- 300 MbpsAfter relocation
Improved speeds in those same locations after repositioning the existing mesh points.
- Up to 800 MbpsAfter the UniFi installation
The client noticed further gains with a UniFi Wi-Fi system using wired connections back to the network.

The first improvement
After analyzing the existing Google Nest setup, we relocated its mesh points. Locations that had been delivering around 30 Mbps improved to around 300 Mbps without replacing the system.
The next step
On a follow-up visit, we installed a UniFi Wi-Fi system with wired backhaul—cabled connections linking the access points back to the network. Following the installation, the client observed speeds of up to 800 Mbps.
Why it matters
Equipment placement can make a substantial difference before an upgrade. In this office, improving the existing setup delivered an immediate gain, followed by a further improvement with a wired Wi-Fi installation.
Results from this project, based on our observations and the client’s feedback. Speeds vary with location, device, internet service and network conditions.
