FROM PLAN TO WORKING NETWORK

What a Wi-Fi installation involves.

  1. Understand the space.

We review your layout, building materials, existing equipment and the rooms or outdoor areas where you need coverage. Tell us about video calls, connected devices and any planned changes.

  2. Plan and quote the installation.

We recommend equipment and access point locations, check wired connections and power requirements, and agree on the scope. Equipment, installation, configuration and any cabling work are identified in the quote.

  3. Install and configure.

We set up the agreed equipment and network settings, coordinate the change with you or your IT team, and discuss expected interruptions before work begins. Guest Wi-Fi and separate networks for devices can be included.

  4. Measure, tune and hand over.

We check performance in the agreed areas and adjust settings based on what we measure. We explain the setup and everyday admin tasks, with documentation and training tailored to your project.

Existing Ethernet wiring or an unfinished network panel? We can assess what can be reused and scope cable termination, rack completion and network box setup as part of the project.

PLACEMENT AND TUNING MATTER

The equipment is only part of the result.

Simply adding more access points or leaving every setting at its default may not address your coverage and performance needs. We take measurements, review placement and tune settings for the environment, including interference and how nearby access points work together.

We also check whether the existing system can do the job. In one office using Google Nest Wi-Fi, speeds ranged from around 30 to 400 Mbps depending on location. Repositioning the mesh points improved the slower locations from around 30 to 300 Mbps. After a later UniFi installation with wired connections back to the network, the client reported speeds up to 800 Mbps.

Results from one project; speeds depend on the internet service, devices, network and conditions. These are not guaranteed installation speeds.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you book a Wi-Fi installer.

Can you install equipment I already bought?

We can review it first to check whether it suits the property, works with the existing network and has the access and management options needed. We’ll explain any limitations before agreeing to the installation.

Do all access points need Ethernet cables?

Wired connections back to the network can reduce reliance on wireless mesh links. We review available cable routes and existing wiring, then recommend a suitable approach. If cabling is impractical, we discuss the options and tradeoffs.

Will installation interrupt our internet?

Some changes require downtime. We discuss the expected interruption and installation window in advance, including coordination with staff or your IT provider. Timing depends on the agreed scope.

Can you work with our IT team or builder?

Yes. We can provide networking expertise alongside your existing team, coordinating access point locations, cable requirements, equipment and configuration responsibilities.

Do you provide the internet connection too?

You keep your internet service with your provider. We install and configure the Wi-Fi and local network that connects your devices to it. We can help identify when an internet service or modem issue needs attention from your provider.

Do I need a whole new system?

Not always. Placement, settings or a faulty component may be the problem. We assess the setup before recommending an installation, replacement or smaller improvement.
