ARAKNIS TO UNIFI · WESTCHESTER, NY

Araknis to UniFi. A considered home network upgrade.

Perhaps you’ve received an upgrade quote, your Wi-Fi is falling short, or you want a clearer understanding of the system in your home. We help Westchester homeowners review their Araknis network and determine whether a UniFi replacement is the right next step.

COMPARE THE WHOLE PROJECT

Better value starts with
the right scope.

Replacing equipment is not always the answer. Placement, settings or the connections between devices may be contributing to poor performance. We look at the current network before recommending an upgrade.

Araknis and UniFi have different management approaches. Araknis uses the OvrC ecosystem; UniFi offers its own management tools. We compare the equipment, access and support arrangement you actually have, rather than assuming that one brand is always the better choice.

Review the upgrade quote.

We can compare the proposed equipment and work with a scoped UniFi alternative. The comparison includes installation, configuration, testing and handoff so you can see what each option covers.

Savings depend on the models, property and project. We don’t promise a fixed percentage or assume every existing device needs replacing.

Keep your home connected.

A network change needs to account for the systems that depend on it: smart lighting, shades, thermostats, locks, cameras and AV equipment.

We coordinate network requirements with your existing installer where needed. Changes to automation programming or other specialist systems need their own agreed scope.

FROM REVIEW TO HANDOFF

A transition built around your home.

  • Coverage where you use it. Review rooms, floors, home offices and outdoor spaces before choosing access point locations.
  • Reuse where practical. Check whether existing Ethernet cabling, racks or other equipment are suitable for the new design.
  • Coordinate access. Establish authorized administrator access and clarify account ownership with you and your existing provider.
  • Plan and test the change. Agree on interruptions, check the devices and systems in scope, and explain how to manage your network afterward.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Araknis or UniFi?
Start with your needs.

Is UniFi always cheaper than Araknis?

No single comparison covers every project. Equipment prices, installation work and the support included can differ. We can help you compare an actual Araknis upgrade quote with a UniFi option built around the same requirements.

Do we need to replace everything at once?

Not necessarily. We assess what is working, what is limiting performance and which components can stay. A staged upgrade may be suitable if the equipment and configuration support it.

Will our smart-home and AV systems still work?

We identify network dependencies and coordinate with your installer before changing the setup. Keeping a Wi-Fi name and password alone does not guarantee compatibility; addressing, discovery and other network settings may also matter. Testing is agreed as part of the scope.

Can we manage the new network ourselves?

We can include account setup, documentation and training so you understand your access and everyday controls. You can also agree on separate support if you prefer help managing it. No ongoing IT contract is required for project work.

Should firmware updates be part of the comparison?

Yes. We review the specific equipment’s firmware, support status and update requirements. Release frequency alone does not tell you whether a system is suitable, secure or performing well.

Can you troubleshoot Araknis before recommending a replacement?

We can start with the network symptoms, coverage and available configuration access to identify likely causes and recommend a scope. The assessment does not commit you to switching platforms.
